In Star Trek Online, Escort-type starships are the glass cannons of interstellar warfare. "Live fast, die fast" is their motto. They're also incredibly nimble and pack unbelievable amounts of firepower into a tiny frame. The quote that Wash makes from Serenity right before he gets impaled through the chest by a telephone pole seemed appropriate to their playstyle.
One of three motivational posters I'm making for Star Trek Online. I went to some trouble to try and make an in-game screenshot of a Defiant-class with guns blazing, but the FX STO uses for phaser cannons don't lend themselves to screenshots easily, so I had to go with a more standard picture of the USS Defiant. Alternative quotes that I considered are: "If the guns are big enough, it doesn't matter that the ship is a flying coffin", "Go ahead, call my ship a 'flying coffin' again", and simply "Redshirts' Revenge" (suggested by my friend KirksOtherSon from the STO forums).
Well the ones I fight are normally on low health but nail me when my cool downs are on or while i'm turning for another pass. SO i fire until they are REALLY low then ram them
works for some, but i find the lack of survivablity in the game sucks, too much focus on doing damage and no consequence for being destroyed, in my books a destroyed vessel should not respawn, you break it, you bought it
well for missions its not so bad, but its PVP that gets on my nerves, for escorts its all fun and games don't matter if they get blown apart, but cruisers are kind of the survivalists , would be more useful if ships couldn't just respawn and rejoin the battle, i just thin the games priority on DPS is wrong, theres a reason why the enterprise has always been a cruiser and not an escort
